Certain teams will be looking to register their first set of points to stand a chance
of bolstering their chances of making it to the next phase of competition as play in the Busta Soft Shoe Football Tournament continues today with six more games, at the Tucville ground.
In the first encounter, both Queen Street of Tiger Bay and Stevedore Housing Scheme are two such teams who’re yet to register points and this scenario should produce a crowd pleaser.
Next up will be the clash between Ballerz and Sophia and while both teams scored wins in their opening encounters, staying unbeaten should be enough motivation to ignite a sizzling affair.
Alexander Village, who drew with Charlestown, engage California Square and the two teams are among the best exponents of the futsal format (small goal) so they bring quite a lot of experience and individual skill to the pitch and this could be a scorching clash with a winner proving difficult to chose.
Leopold Street go up against Kitty Weavers and while the former must start as favourites having had huge success in similar formats, the latter because of their opening loss could come with unrestrained determination to claim their first set of points to stay in contention.
North Ruimveldt and West back Road square off next and just like the matches before them could provide fireworks as they both look to improve their standing in the points bracket.
North Ruimveldt drew with Globe Yard, while West Back Road suffered a loss at the hands of Back Circle so just imagine how interesting it could get to secure full points.
In the final encounter of the evening, the star-studded Sparta Boss, who looked lacklustre in the first half of their opening game, before turning up the heat in the second period to eventually coast to a comfortable win, take on Charlestown that drew their first encounter.
The night promises to provide some exhilarating action.
Apart from Guyana Beverages Inc. whose sponsorship comes under the Busta brand, the other supporting entities are GT&T, Lucky Dollar, Star Party Rentals, Mendonca Creole, Nigel’s Supermarket and Junior’s Jewellery and Pawn Shop.
