2015 NBS Second Division forty overs cricket competition…
The 2015 New Building Society Limited Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition, organised by the
Berbice Cricket Board, continued with Jorim DeFreitas registering the first century of this year’s competition when he slammed 100 not out for Guyana Eagles in their match against Canefield. His knock, which included 8 fours and 4 sixes, saw his team to 184 for 6 in their allotted 25 overs.
Canefield could only respond with 112 in 20 overs. Left arm spinner Chris Sulker of Angoy’s Avenue took 6 for 9 from 6 overs, which together with 3 for 9 from 3 overs from off spinner Graham McKenzie restricted Police to 78 in 17 overs. Then their opener Glendon
DeCunha hit 43 n.o to steer his team to a 9 wicket win.
After Fyrish scored 254 for 9 in 35 overs against No 7, the latter team opening batsman Orlando Gvirola who is a Cuban by birth, made 71 runs (11 fours and 2 sixes) in vain as his team fell for 187 in 23.5 overs.

3. At Fyrish, Fyrish beat No. 7 by 67 runs. Fyrish 254 for 9 in 35 overs with Chandra Roopnarine 39, Javed Mohamed 25, Ravi Persaud 3 for 72, Dineshwar Dhanraj 2 for 33 and Raymond Mohamed 2 for 39. No. 7 187 in 23.5 overs with Orlando Gvirola 71 and Jonathan Bhola 29.
4. At Kilcoy Multipurpose Centre, Cheskoy Riders beat Travellers by 79 runs. Cheskoy Riders 200 all out in 29.4 overs with Sheldon Phillips 45 and Joel Johnson 33. Brian Algu 4 for 31 and Gordon Hughes 2 for 31.
Travellers 121 in 21.3 overs with Sheldon Phillips 3 for 37 and Joel Johnson 2 for 31.
5. Albion Back, Tamarind Root beat Toopoo Rising Stars by 5 wickets. Toopoo Rising Star 170 in 26.4 overs with Majid Khan Mohamed 45 and Surindra Ramdeo 29. Rajendra Deonarine 3 for

6. At Edinburgh, Edinburgh beat East Bank by 2 wickets. East Bank 112 in 19.4 overs with Clifton Lindee 29 and Gary Solomon 25. Compton Wade took 4 for 13, Shafiq Khan 2 for 14 and Deonarine Seepersaud 2 for 22. Edinburgh 113 for 8 in 21.2 overs with Joseph Giddings 26. Zaheer Hussain 4 for 23 and Gary Solomon 2 for 25.
7. At Belvedere, Belvedere Battle Steel beat Belvedere United by 7 runs. Belvedere Battle Steel 110 in 26 overs with Sudesh Verapen 30. Asif Kamaludin took 2 for 26. Belvedere United 103 in 31 overs. Sudesh Verapen 2 for 14, Dindial Mohan 2 for 18 and Ryan Mongal 2 for 25.
