Top scrabble player, William Byron Orlando Michael, was yesterday cremated
after his Funeral Service at the Central Assemblies of God Church. Michael, who was an avid member of Guyana Association of Scrabble Players, died on March 30. He was 58 years old.
Michael held his own among the best players in the game. Most of those players and colleagues from the photography and video community attended the Service yesterday where Michael was described as a “respectable” human being, who was always well-mannered.
Tributes poured from the Scrabble Association, People National Congress (PNC), Pan African Movement and the Guyana Institute of Historical Research among others. Pastor John Smith was the officiating Minister while cremation took place at the Good Hope Crematorium.
