The annual Trophy Stall sponsored Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) Age Group Singles tournament continued on Wednesday last at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall when Priyanna Ramdhani won the Under-15 and 19 Girls Singles
events while Tyreese Jeffrey triumphed in the Under-15 Boys Singles.
Results from the night:
Under-19 Girls Singles Final
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Abosaide Cadogan: 21-2, 21-6
Third Place – Amanda Daniels edged Shonatta Lowe: 21-17, 21-19
Under-15 Boys Singles Final
Tyreese Jeffrey overcame Akili Haynes: 21-19, 18-21, 21-15
Third place went to Ransell Ramsaroop
Under-15 Girls Singles Final
Priyanna Ramdhani trounced Abosaide Cadogan: 21-0, 21-2
Third place – Siya Persaud got past Cassia Lewis: 21-11, 21-17
The tournament will continue tomorrow at the Queen’s College Badminton Courts from 10:30hrs. The Presentation will also be done at the end of the final match.
Matches to be played tomorrow:
Boys Under-19 Third Place: Hemraj Beharry vs. Tyreese Jeffrey (10:30hrs)
Boys Under-19 Final: Narayan Ramdhani vs. Jonathan Mangra (11:30hrs)
Boys Under-13 Finals: Baoxiang Liu vs. Tyreese Richards (11:10hrs)
The tournament which served off on Saturday last attracted players from different schools around Georgetown in the Under-11, 13, 15 and 19 categories. Schools represented are Marian Academy, Queen’s College, Bishop’s High, St. Stanislaus College, Covent Garden Secondary, St. Gabriel’s Primary, St. Rose’s Secondary, Georgetown International Academy and School of the Nations.
