The 704 Sports Bar officially launched yesterday the second series of its Arm Wrestling Tournament which will see 29 contestants battling for over $600,000 in cash and prizes come March 28.
According to the entity’s Project manager, Dustanni Barrow, the competition is open to both men and women this year. He said that they will be participating in two categories; under 200lbs and over.
Apart from trophies for the top performers, the winner will receive $100,000 along with high quality sporting gears from Gizmos and Gadgets Fitness Factory, while the runner-up gets $75,000. The third place collects $50,000.
Registration forms are available at all leading gyms in Georgetown and at the 704 Sports Bar on Lamaha and Albert Streets.
The 704 Management team has also assured that paramedics will be on standby and all contestants will be insured so that in the event of any injury they would be fully covered.
Barrow asserted that for next year’s edition of the competition, the 704 Management will be offering referee and arm wrestling courses.
The sponsors for the event include; Gizmos and Gadgets, Southland International Inc. and the National Communications Network (NCN). The project manager also explained that special cocktails have also been created for the sponsors and will also be added to the cocktail repertoire of the 704 Sports Bar. These concoctions include; Dream TV, E1, and Pass De Cash which will be available at the preliminary round as well as the final round of the event which is slated for April 4.
