Things are falling into place at a terrific rate for one of Guyana’s biggest horserace meets. The Four Horsemen Promotion, ‘Clash of the Titans’ Horse race meet is set for Sunday 22nd March at the Port
Mourant “Big Yard”, Turf Club, Corentyne Berbice.
A number of sponsors are on board to be a part of the action which is expected to be terrific. The activity will see the best horses in the country competing in eight scintillating events for the close to $8M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs in the various divisions.
So far over 55 horses have been entered and thousands are expected to flock to the venue.
On Tuesday, proprietors of the E Networks Company made good on their promise as they presented a cheque for a hefty sum to Secretary of the PMTC Chattergoon Ramnauth.
The entries for the feature A and lower 1600M event for a winning take of $1.2M and Trophy has not been settled as yet.
The Simple Royal Stable has taken a jump start with Score’s Even and Run Nana Run in terrific form last weekend. But the other horses are also showing excellent form with the record breaking Diplomatic Cat expected to touch down to challenge the best in Guyana. Can Treacle defeat Score’s Even again or Discreet Cat take charge upon arrival or will the Elcock pair of C.P Got Even or Curfew Tower return to the podium. Or could the new brigade led by Spit Fire, Tiz a Holiday, Western Charm, Spirit of Dixie, Lady Budapest and Storm Mark burn them up. Those questions will be answered on Sunday.
The other events include the three year old race for West Indies Bred horses over 1200M for a winner’s take of $400,000 and trophy.
Another talk about event is the race for animals classified for D3 maidens and four year old horses and non-earners in the last six months over 1400 meters for a winning purse of $300,000. The likes of Spit Fire, the resilient Unsettled, Just call Me Boss, Swing Easy, Church House, Right to Rule, Tiz A Holiday among others are set to compete.
