The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) on Friday hosted a luncheon at Olympic
House for the Guyana and Bermuda basketball delegations which wrapped up a three-game International Series last night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) presented the Bermudian men’s basketball team with a plaque in a show of appreciation for their tour to Guyana. Bermuda is ranked higher than Guyana in the Caribbean Basketball Confederation.
Olympic Association President, K.A Juman Yassin, who presented the token to the Bermudians, was pleased with the camaraderie shown between the tourists and the Guyanese, while the GABF President, Nigel Hinds thanked Bermuda for their participation.
Hinds believed that Bermuda ranked among the top six teams in the Caribbean, while Guyana is outside of the top 10 of 22 teams, assisted tremendously in improving Guyana’s basketball level to the point that the host country can receive better rankings.
Bermuda Basketball Association (BBA) President and team manager, Greg Todd thanked Hinds and the GABF for the invitation. Todd also expressed gratitude for the hospitality shown to them throughout the tour and at Olympic House on Friday. (Edison Jefford)
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
