Fruta Conquerors/Massy United Insurance U-15 League Soccer tournament …
Fans were treated to entertaining football and several teams registered wins when round two of the Fruta Conquerors U-15 League Soccer competition continued at the Club’s Ground, Tucville last Sunday, 8th March. The tournament is being conducted under the auspices of the Guyana Football Federation and the Georgetown Football Association and is being sponsored by Massy United Insurance.
The tournament is now in the second stage and in the first game played on Sunday, Santos FC defeated Riddim Squad 4-0 after Ryan Dowling netted a double with support from Jamal Mingo and Deangelo Baux. The Georgetown Football Club was gifted a walk over from Houston Stars while Renaissance FC defeated Western Tigers FC 2-1.
Beacon FC and Camptown engaged in a closely fought encounter and the former team prevailed 2-1. Shamar Austin and Ossie Critchlow netted for Beacon, while Shaun Jones narrowed the score albeit inconsequentially. Order and Discipline FC were also in winners’ row and registered a 1 nil victory over Pele who played with ten players after one of their players was red carded.
Fruta Conquerors enjoyed the home advantage and swamped Black Pearl 5 nil on the back of goals from Raushawn Ritch, who scored a hat trick with support from Orrwyn Garraway who netted a brace.
Activities continue over the next weekend and several games will be contested on Saturday and Sunday.
