Mark Williams XI thumped Orlando Jailall XI by two wickets when the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) commenced preparations for the upcoming Inter-County U-17 50-over tournament.
Taking first strike at Imam Bacchus ground at Affiance, Jailall XI managed 124 all out in 29 overs. Shakeem Sue struck 37 (4×4 2×6) and Joel Fortune got 22. Manoj Ramraj snared 3-20 and Chanderpaul Mohabir 2-13.
Williams XI made 125-8 in 21 overs in reply with the skipper scoring 41 (5×4); Mahendra Persaud grabbed 4-25 and Fortune 3-15. The other matches have been re-scheduled for this weekend due to rain.
