Police yesterday continued to question a deportee and his wife, after finding a car believed to have been used by the
Trevor Abrams
killers of Mining engineer Trevor Abrams at their home.
The vehicle, a grey Toyota AT 212, with licence plates PLL 5966, was found on Saturday at the couple’s Covent Gardens, East Bank Demerara residence. Kaieteur News understands that the deportee has told investigators that someone had rented the car and that the individual left it at the couple’s residence.
Crime scene ranks have made a thorough check of the vehicle, which has been impounded at the Grove/Diamond Police Station.
A police official said that investigators are still seeking a motive for the execution-style attack, even as they attempt to enhance a CCTV image of the gunmen shooting at Abrams’ car.
On Friday last, Abrams, 32, of Lot 131 Samatta Point, East Bank Demerara, was driving north along the East Bank Demerara Public Road near Little Diamond when two gunmen emerged from another car and shot him several times. The attack occurred at around 11.00 hrs.
