Silver Bullets and Show Stoppers will battle in the final of the New Era Entertainment
(NEE) Mackeson Mashramani Futsal Final tonight after setting up the riveting showdown in the semis last weekend at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court in Linden.
Silver Bullets had defeated Magic Stars 6-5 in one of the semi-finals compliments of a hat-trick from Colwin Drakes and solitary strikes from Tony Gilbert, Damian Williams and Keon Sears, which evaded Magic Stars in a closely fought showdown.
Clarence H scored twice while Jermain G, Jonathan F and Joel McKinnon scored a goal each for Magic Stars, who will play Plantain All-Stars in third place game tonight.
In the other semi-final, Sean Brewley scored a hat-trick with Steve Brewley, John Waldron and Anthony Sancho each scoring a goal in Show Stoppers’ 6-3 win against Plantain All-Stars.
Donavan Francis scored all three goals for Plantain All-Stars, who will play Magic Stars in the third place game Saturday night in the Mining Town of Linden. These players will be on show tonight when the competition culminates.
The winning team will pocket $300,000 while the runner-up gets $100,000. The third place team gets $75,000 in the tournament with $25,000 set aside for the fourth placed team. The MVP gets a pair of Futsal sneakers and trophy.
