The semi-finals of the 11th Busta Champion of Champions sponsored 40-over cricket tournament organised by the The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club would be played tomorrow at two venues.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets will host West Berbice, while Tucber Park (formerly Bermine is set to face Albion Community Centre at the Port Mourant Cricket ground.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets in the absence of several of their players due to overseas commitment and migration would depend heavily on Jason Sinclair, Delbert Hicks, Shawn Pereira, Brandon Prashad, Vihal Crandon, West Indies female player Shemaine Campbelle and Leroy Bristol to score heavily against West Berbice while their bowling attack will be spearheaded by medium pacers Keon Sinclair and Sherain Murray, off spinner Troy Mathieson, left arm spinner Leroy Bristol and leg spinners Shawn Pereira and Brandon Prashad.
West Berbice, semi finalists in the tournament on seven occasions but never making it to the finals is hoping that Arthley Bailey, Keith Fraser, Keon Fraser, Raun Johnson, Kellon Carmichael, Steffan Adams and Rendell Bobb come to the party against Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets to create an upset.
A depleted Albion Community Centre team, missing several national players would have to be at the top of their game to get past Tucber Park. Albion’s challenge is being led by first round centurion Kandasammy Surujnarine, Balchan Baldeo, Jonathan Foo, Gudakesh Motie, David Latchaya and Daniel Lewis.
Tucber Park’s challenge would be led by skipper Anthony D’Andrade, Eugene La Fleur, Joemal La Fleur, Nial Smith, Hakeem Hinds, Devon Clements and Damon Vantull. The finals would be played under lights at the Albion Sports Complex and would also have ball by ball commentary on NCN Radio.
