The long awaited final of the 2014 Republic Bank (Guyana) Ltd sponsored Inter Zone Under-17 cricket competition for teams in Berbice is set for tomorrow at the famous Albion Sports Complex.
After several postponements due to the unpredictable weather and other unforeseen reasons, the match will commence at 9:00hrs and will feature the best young cricketers in the county with Lower Corentyne set to clash with New Amsterdam/Canje. Lower Corentyne will start as slight favourites, but a stiff challenge is expected from the lads from NA/Canje.
Lower Corentyne, who defeated Upper Corentyne in the semi-final, has a strong batting line up led by National Under-17 player and captain, Brandon Persaud. He will receive support from Adrian Sukwah and Matthew Hardial. Pacer Sylus Tyndall will spearhead the bowling with support from all rounder Joshua Harrichand and Suraj Dookhna.
NA/Canje on the other hand will have in their line up several all rounders in the names of the inform Kevon Sinclair, Steve Deonarine, Joel Seetaram, Junior Williams and Sasenarine Sukhu.
