The GBTI sponsored Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) Silver Jubilee Anniversary Inter Secondary Tapeball cricket tournament is set to bowl off today with three matches.
Male and female teams will contest this competition which will see the club identifying 30 promising players for its Cricket Development Programme which would be conducted by Coach Delbert Hicks.
The seven competing schools are Central Corentyne, Winifred Gaskin, Manchester High, Corentyne Comprehensivey, Port Mourant, J.C. Chandisingh and Lower Corentyne. Female 10-overs matches’ start at 09:30hrs, the male segment begins at 11:30hrs.
Following are the fixtures:
1. Winifred Gaskin v Manchester High @ Ulverston Ground
2. Corentyne Comprehensive v Port Mourant Secondary @ Port Mourant
3. Lower Corentyne v J.C. Chandisingh @ Area ‘H’ Ground
Central Corentyne drew the bye.
The semifinals are slated for Monday February 16 while the finals are scheduled for Friday February 20, all at the Area ‘H’ ground. GBTI’s Port Mourant Manager Mr. Ghoeblall Mahadeo and RHTYSC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster would declare the tournament open today at the Area ‘H’ Ground at 09:00hrs.
