Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) grabbed first innings points from Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) as their Georgetown Cricket Association/ Hadi’s World City Mall Inc first division two-day game ended as a drawn
encounter on Sunday last.
In reply to DCC first innings score of 185, host MSC were bowled out for 133 in the first session of the second day. Kellon Carmichael added just eight to his overnight score as he departed for 41. Paul Wintz claimed four wickets, Trevon Garraway three and Keano Harry two.
With a lead of 52, DCC scored 177 all out batting a second time. Tevin Imlach cracked 32 and Garraway 24; Orin Forde and Shaquille Moseley took three scalps each.
Set 230 to win, MSC were 144-7 when stumps were drawn on the final day. Imran Hassan stroked 50 and Moseley made 27 not out as Dexter George captured four wickets.
Scores: DCC 185 (Trevon Griffith 72, Antonell Atwell 36, Moseley 5-29 and Delon Dalrymple 3-30) and 177 (Tevin Imlach 32, Garraway 24, Forde and Moseley had three scalps each. MSC 133 (Carmichael 41, Forde 38, Joseph Cupidore 32, Wintz four wickets, Garraway three and Harry two) and 144-7 (Hassan 50, Moseley 27*, George four wickets).
