For the second day in a row, Kelvin Omroa XI defeated Kevlon Anderson XI by 69 runs in the second and last trial match arranged by the Berbice Cricket Board to help select the Berbice team for the Inter County tournament which is slated to start on February 15, 2015.
Batting first, Omroa XI made 159 for the loss of 8 wickets. Berbice Under-15 all rounder Seon Glasgow Jnr top scored with a responsible 44. Another Berbice batsman Junior Sinclair supported with 24 and Andrea Bissoondial 22. Bowling for Anderson XI, Aaron Beharry, Joshua Bacchus and Daniel Moses took 2 wickets a piece for 10, 14 and 25 respectively.
Anderson XI in reply was bowled out for a disappointing 90 with only Brandon Mangal and Garfield Benjamin reaching double figures with 17 and 15 respectively. Nigel led the bowling with 4 for 29. He was supported by Glasgow and Gevon Schultz with two wickets each.
Meanwhile, the junior selection panel headed by Leslie Solomon named the fourteen players and six standbys for the Inter County tournament.
