Since his return from South Africa in December of 2012, Youth Ambassador, Astell Collins, has quickly become one of nation’s influential leaders. Astell is ushering in a new era of leadership in Guyana and by extension, redefining leadership in his generation.
He is a phenomenal communicator and has built a reputation to present revolutionary truths in creative and intriguing ways which have been very persuasive. Moreover, through his BD1 (Better Defined One) Leadership Seminars he is responsible for influencing and transforming lives across socioeconomic divides which transcends political, denominational and ethnic barriers.
Upon returning to Guyana, Astell met with President Donald Ramotar and has committed to making his contributions to national development through his BD1 Leadership seminars. Similarly he was conducting leadership seminars with the Sophia and Kuru Kuru training centre.
Astell is in partnership with the Ministry of Education which has granted him access to schools across this nation to facilitate his leadership seminars to the youth. Furthermore, he has facilitated leadership seminars with officers and ordinary ranks of the Guyana Police Force.
He is now taking his communication skills to campaign among young people in support of A Partnership for National Unity.
