Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) President Alfred King has paid tribute following the passing of football administrator Aubrey Henry. Henry, who served in several capacities either at the club, association and federation levels, died last week in the United States. King noted his love for the game and his struggle for good administrative practices.
Here is the full text of that message:
“Quite a sad day for football administration in Guyana! An experienced football administrator and volunteer has passed. His love for the game, his passion for justice and fair-play with regards to football administration were all very well known. He always brought something to the “table”.
His most recent work was quite significant in relation to the struggle for good administrative outcomes at the GFF, will certainly be honoured with the return of high quality football administration in Guyana which may very well result in the Golden Jaguars qualifying for the next World Cup.
On behalf of the GFRC and my own behalf – Sincere condolences are extended to his family, loved ones, friends and associates. May the Good Lord be with you all. May his Soul Rest in Peace!
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
