The 704 Ultimate Arm Wrestling Competition was launched last Friday and the event is expected to have its previous champions participating.
704 will be providing insurance for all players who participate. The top prize will be $100,000 in each category which includes the under-200 lbs and over 250 lbs. The tournament final is expected to happen on April 4.
The Ultimate Arm Wrestling Championships was first launched in 2014 as part of an annual event created by the management of the 704 sports bar. The management had given a commitment that as long as there is an interest they will continue to promote this sport.
In 2015 they expect that it will be larger and more persons will come forward to participate. The entrance fee is only $1,000 and forms are available at leading Gyms and the 704 bar.
The main sponsor this year is Southland International.
The promoters have already approached two International arm wrestling champions with the intention of bring one of them to Guyana to referee the finals. The competition begins on February 22nd and will conclude on April 4th. All events will be held at 704 Sports Bar and a new regulation built table will also be in place. The Championship table from 2014 has been donated to the Guyana Defence Force.
