Guyana Times/Television Guyana (TVG) reporter, Andre Hetsberger, was yesterday released on $300,000 bail following allegations of sexual offence
committed against a 13-year-old female family member.
Behind closed doors, Hetsberger was indicted before Magistrate Fabayo Azore on two counts of sexual activity with a child family member.
The court heard that the activity occurred on October 12, last, and again on October 15, last, at Lot 7 Camp Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
When the two charges were read to him, however, Hetsberger was not called to enter a plea since they were laid indictably. He submitted a bail application through his lawyer, Basil Williams.
The case is being prosecuted by Inspector Michael Grant.
At the end of the brief hearing, the reporter was granted $150,000 bail on each charge. Hetsberger is expected to make his second court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on February 2.
