Diamond Bridge bypass
Work on the East Bank Demerara four-lane extension, between Little Diamond and Diamond, has reached a critical phase, with traffic yesterday being shifted to a bypass of the critical “high bridge” at the DDL turn. Contractor, BK International, has to dismantle the bridge but a bypass was needed before this could be done. The entire project, valued at $4B, is way behind schedule.
