The body of an unidentified man was fished out of the Demerara River about 19:00 hours yesterday.
Reports are that the man’s body was first spotted by residents floating in the vicinity of the Craig koker area. This was some two hours before the body was actually retrieved.
Kaieteur News understands that the body floated to Friendship where maritime police ranks managed to retrieve it.
“John Doe,” who appeared to be in his fifties, was clad in a pair of blue jeans and a blue and black striped shirt.
His faced was bruised and his body was bloated.
