FIFA’s Regional Technical Development Officer (TDO) of the South East Caribbean Mr. Anton Corneal visited Guyana for two days of discussions with
the Technical Director of the Guyana Football Federation Mr. Claude Bolton.
The discussions centered on the design and implementation of a technical development programme for Guyana that is in keeping with FIFA’s technical programme and objectives.
Mr. Bolton said the engagements were informative and will aid his vision for a short and long term development plan. “It is so very encouraging to see the support, guidance, and commitment that FIFA has for its Member Associations to succeed. On behalf of our players and Guyana, I would like to thank Mr. Corneal for reviewing our plans and aiding us with a road map to success.”
FIFA is clear that the foundation to a sound development programme that will have a positive and long-term impact on the footballing future of Guyana must focus on Grassroots, Youth Development, Women’s Development, and Coaching Education. Bolton added that, “This too, will be our driving force for the good of the Game in Guyana.”
