Food For The Poor (FFTP) Guyana successfully carried out its 2014 mandate of
assisting the poor “with high level professionalism and intensity”, with 556 individuals benefitting from the organisation’s charitable projects.
According to FFTP, the organization completed the construction of 94 homes under their Housing Program and Community Development Projects.
Fifty Eight homes were built in theWhite Water and Akawani Communities with the remaining 36 completed under the organisation’s General Housing Program.
For 2015, the organisation is looking to continue its services to more underdeveloped communities around Guyana, with a community center currently under construction at Bara Cara, Berbice.
The White Water Primary school in the North West District, will receive upgraded flooring and a new library.
In addition to building construction, FFTP managed to provide solar panel kits to 220 households. The distribution was made through the organisation’s Rural Solar Electrification Project, for families who lacked access to the national electricity grid.
