Dear Sports Editor,
The Sportsman of the Year Award should be unanimously awarded to Kristian Jeffrey, Group 4 Motorsport driver. What he did in his rookie season in the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motoring Racing Championships is unlikely to be duplicated.
His debut race at Bushy Park, Barbados is one for the history books; he dominated by winning all three races from different starting positions including from the back of the pack. His skills are next to none! His patience is unrivaled! His desire to win is unmatched! His competitiveness is priceless!
He is the purest driver anywhere in the Caribbean. He is the only ‘top’ driver that still competes with a manual transmission race car. Keep in mind; he competed with the best from around the Caribbean including David Summerbell whom is still considered the best racer in the Caribbean.
Now, that all the drivers’ have experienced what Kristian Jeffrey is all about they’ve been busy re-doing their race cars during this off-season just to elevate their levels to be competitive.
Every driver has been upgrading their cars including David Summerbell who is rebuilding his machine from the ground up! There will be a few ‘new’ faces from around the Caribbean that will be competing to take the coveted CMRC crown from reigning champion, Kristian Jeffrey who should be adding yet another award (Sportsman of the Year) to his trophy collection.
The people of the Caribbean can be proud that they have a world-class driver! South Dakota, Guyana is not big enough to accommodate all of the best drivers’ of the Caribbean that will be competing in Group 4 in the 2015 Season. Especially when the Championship will end there!!!
Sincerely,
Jogi Ram
