Jim Bacchus Travel Service is the latest sponsor of the Young Warriors Cricket Club third edition of Mash Cup 2015. The event will be held on Monday
23rd of February, 2015, a national holiday, and will involve eleven second division teams in the East Canje/No.19 area. It will be held at the picturesque Cumberland ground, the venue of the host and will be of five overs aside. The day promises to be entertaining.
At the presentation of the sponsorship cheque, Mr Inshan Satar, husband of CEO Angela Satar said that he is happy to be part of this mega event that provides so much fun and entertainment for the family. He said that he is also happy to know that the cricket club is so active and is helping to develop the skills of the young cricketers. He added that as a born and bred resident of the area and a cricket fan, he is so happy that players like Shimron Hetmyer who is so young and talented and is now a senior national cricketer. He hopes that others will be motivated by Shimron’s achievement at such a tender age. He called on parents in the area to send their children to the club so that more Shimrons can be produced.
Arshad Rahaman, a representative of the YWCC said that Satar has made the right call and the club is now equipped with two quality coaches in former national senior player, national coach and selector Hubern Evans and former youth pacer and Berbice senior player Qwesi Maltay. He added that the club is open to anyone who wishes to join and that there is no fee attached.
Other sponsors so far are: Ashraf Ali of Ashiek and Son Motor Supplies and Auto Sales, Republic Bank, Scotiabank and J’S Printery. Proceeds from this event will go towards further development of the club.
