Police and relatives were up to late last night searching for a 14-year-old boy who mysteriously disappeared at 17:00 hrs yesterday after a quiet family outing at the creek just outside of Splashmins.
Kaieteur News understands that Dhaniram Ramgopaul, of Good Hope; East Coast Demerara, was having the time of his life, playing in the water and came out minutes after to go to a nearby washroom.
After 15 minutes, relatives got worried and searched the washroom but Dhaniram Ramgopaul of Good Hope; East Coast Demerara was nowhere to be found.
Combing the creek for nearly three hours for his body also turned out to be a fruitless exercise. The parents subsequently contacted the police. The worried mother Jankie Seecharam told this publication up to press time that the highway police were conducting patrols but neither her son nor any of his belongings could be found. She described her son as a strong swimmer.
Dhaniram Ramgopaul was last seen wearing white pants and a white vest. Anyone having pertinent information that could lead to finding the teen can contact relatives on 673 4686 or the nearest police outpost.
