The Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) has received the backing of Metro Office and Computer Supplies for their Boxing Day meet which will be held at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice starting from 12:00 hrs.
The company has committed to the first prize of $1,000,000 and the first place trophy for the feature A1 and Lower event. Yesterday at Metro Office in Quamina Street, Chief Executive Officer Avia Maria Lindie made the presentation to President of the KMTC Ceil Kennard.
Lindie stated that the company is once again happy to be linked with the event and this is the sixth year they are on board.
Kennard thanked Metro for their continued support, adding that not only his club benefits from their kindness, but other sporting organizations. He informed that entries close today.
“Entries were set to be closed yesterday, but we have decided to extend the registration period by one day to facilitate horse owners who still are interested to participate,” Kennard explained.
He stated that entrance fee for adults is $1,200, children between 10-16 years old $600, while children under-10 will be admitted free. Eight races are carded for the day while programme and parking cost $300 each. The races will be conducted under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA).
