Youth Basketball Guyana brought down the curtains on the 2014 school basketball
season with the fourth edition of the Titan Bowl-best of the best school basketball Championships. In the final game of an action packed weekend it took two extra periods for the Linden Technical Institute (LTI) to edge past the Kwakwani Secondary- 58 pts to 56pts in a thrilling encounter between the two best school teams in the nation.
Dennis Niles carried LTI down the stretch and in the end earned the MVP accolade for his clutch play.
Titan Bowl is the YBG year end finale which features the top high school teams in the country. Bishops’ High school defeated St. Rose’s High school to finish in third position.
The exciting programme which started on Friday 12th and ended on Sunday 14, also featured- match-ups between Saints and St. Rose’s girls, Marian Academy, Bishops’ and St. Rose’s under 14, Queen’s College, Saints Stanislaus College, St. Rose’s and Marian Academy past students and an exciting Mini Basketball cluster game.
The attendance of parents, teachers and school basketball supporters added to a fitting and positive climax of another great year for Youth Basketball Guyana-schools’ basketball, as the YBG set their focus
now on the tenth anniversary year of the National School Basketball Festival in 2015.
