The murder charge now comes in the wake of the death of the older woman.
Sarawati on December 11, 2014 at Whim, Corentyne, Berbice, unlawfully and maliciously wounded his reputed wife, Serojnie Isaacs, 19, and her mother, Nelawattie Isaacs, 37, with intent to murder them.

Sarawati did not take it lightly and began issuing several threats which Serojini ignored. He began stalking the woman.
Around 7:30 hrs, on the day in question the women were at a family get together when Sarawati slipped into the kitchen and started to chop them. He first felled Nelawattie with a chop across her head before turning his weapon on Serojnie and severely chopped her about her body.
Male relatives who were at other parts of the premises were alerted to the commotion and quickly descended to the scene and manage to overpower the attacker after scuffle. He was subsequently handed over to the police.
