A fine all-round performance by Richard Latiff guided Regal to a comprehensive 111-run
win over SPR Enterprise in a 20-over fixture Sunday at Everest Cricket Club.
Latiff scored 28 as Regal posted 222-8 off their allotted overs, batting first. He then returned with the ball to capture 5-25 to help bowl out SPR Enterprise for 111 in 15 overs. Latiff and Martin Dutchin laid the foundation with an opening stand of 52 before Dutchin went for 27. Safraz Esau top scored with 31, Randy Budhu struck 23 and Ricky Sargeant 22 to give their team a challenging total.
Danny Singh, Mark Harold and Wazir Husain grabbed two wickets each.
SPR Enterprise, which included several guest players from some of the top teams in Demerara, never looked threatening in response, Amir Nizamudeen and Greg Singh scored 22 and 17 respectively. Budhu supported man of the match Latiff with 3-29 as Regal pocketed $100,000. The game was organized by Samuel Kingston.
