In the spirit of giving and spreading cheer during this festive season, Giftland Officemax distributed over $500,000 worth in hampers and gift items to scores of residents from Rosemary Lane (Tiger Bay), yesterday.
Media Coordinator of Giftland Officemax, Delroy Dash noted that the event is a part of efforts made by the agency to assist persons in the area to offset their holiday expenses.
“We have been doing this every year, sharing Christmas cheer with our immediate neighbours assisting them with gift items, groceries… In August we have a similar activity where we assist the school children with back to school items.”Dash said.
Employees of Giftland Officemax distributed over 200 hampers of food items, clothing, toys, gifts and other personal care items to the residents. This year, the department store also provided food hampers to 21 elderly persons living in Tiger Bay.
Among those present at the distribution event were internationally acclaimed bodybuilder, Hugh Ross and local comedians Kirk Jardine popularly known as ‘Chow Pow’, Lyndon ‘Jumbie,’ Jones and Micheal Ignatius.
“We are always grateful for Giftland because they always support us especially at Christmas time when we can use a hand,” one resident commented.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
