The Guyana Squash Association in collaboration with its number one corporate sponsor Digicel is holding the annual
Farfan & Mendes Junior Christmas Squash Tournament at the Georgetown Club Inc. squash courts.
Play commenced on day two with matches in all eight of the categories which are being contested. In one of the feature matches of the evening Alex Cheeks again put up a fight against fellow national player Larissa Wiltshire but again came up short. Larissa won the first two games 11 – 3 and 11 – 1 but Alex started playing better in the third game and won it 11 – 7. Larissa seemed to re-focus in the fourth game and easily won it 11 – 4.
Shomari Wiltshire and Daniel Islam renewed their rivalry and even though Shomari won the match in straight games 11 – 4, 12 – 10, 11 – 8 Daniel played extremely well and was unlucky not to win the second game.
