Managing Director, Mr Ramesh Paykoo, of Grand Coastal Hotel & Restaurant of Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara, rated as “your number one choice for business or pleasure accommodations in Guyana, South America,” is still excited about the play-off of the Grand Coastal Golf Tournament which the inclement weather had postponed from Saturday, November 22nd. The event has been rescheduled to today.
Lusignan Golf Club Grounds Supervisor, Mr Mike Gayadin, reported that, “The Ground is now in fine condition. The greens, tee-boxes and fairways will all be in superb condition for Saturday’s play.” Club President, David Mohamad expects that the regular rivalry at this end-of-year tournament will be present, but more significantly is seeking to be one of those in the winning spots himself.
The competition has been won in previous years by then teenagers Arvinda Kishore and Joaan Deo, among others, both of whom have experienced Guyana Open victories, and are expected to compete this weekend.
The game will be played on the open Medal Play system. Prizes would be provided for 1st to 3rd Best Net position in the male category and 1st Best Net in the female category, Overall Best Gross and Nearest to The Pin. Tee-off is set for 12:15 hours.
