Six-time champions Guyana underlined their intentions to regain the (North American and Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) title after posting three consecutive victories on the opening day of competition in the NACRA Sevens Championship in Mexico yesterday.
The Guyanese ruggers produced dazzling performances throughout the day to finish unbeaten after registering wins against defending champion Mexico in their first game, before destroying Cayman Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines consecutively.
Guyana first defeated Mexico 19-7 in their opening encounter, before returning to beat to the Cayman Islands 36-12 and closed the day with a 47-0 destruction of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The knockout phase commences today and Guyana is highly favoured to go all the way.
