The national rugby team will open its quest for top honours in this year’s NACRA Sevens
Championship today against host and defending champions Mexico. The current NACRA 15’s champions who were forced to miss the championship last year due to late registration, will be hoping to get a good start in the tournament, a format in rugby that they are famously familiar with, having won the title six years consecutively.
Guyana is placed in Group C along with defending champions Mexico, Cayman Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. They next face the Cayman Islands, before closing the Group stage with an engagement against St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
