Massiah Primary defeated Number 56 Primary by nine wickets to claim the Girls title, but their
male counterparts suffered an eight- wicket loss to the same opponents when the AL Sport and Tour Promotions Upper Corentyne Primary Schools Windball Cricket took place recently.
In the Girls final #56 Primary took first strike scored 35-5 in five overs. Massiah, playing in front of their home crowd hit off the required runs, losing just one wicket, ending on 38-1 with Chitranie Dharry scoring 16.
In the semifinals, Massiah thumped two times defending champions #48 Primary, while #56 girls playing in their first championship, beat Crabwood Creek.
In the male division, Massiah batted first and made 54-6 off 5 overs. Number 56, runner up for the past five years replied with 56-2. Samuels Madray scored 36.
In the semis #56 beat Crabwood Creek and Massiah defeated New Market Primary.
Fourteen teams competed in the tournament which was organised by Sports Officer Alistair Munroe.
