The Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has written to the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation informing them that they have not been granted approval to host the 25th edition of their yearend tournament which was scheduled to be run from November to January.
In its missive to K&S signed by General Secretary (ag) Mabiloa Howard, the GFF said that after consultation with its member associations they have indicated their strong intent to host their own yearend tournaments which would unfortunately clash with the proposed dates by K&S.
“The GFF is however aware of, and is most interested in continuing, the well-established relationship between the GFF and the Kashif and Shanghai organization. As such, we encourage you to consider hosting your tournament in 2015 during another period. Additionally, we wish to advise you that from 2015, the Guyana Football Federation will be hosting its own end of year tournament, with the involvement of all our members associations, from November to January,” the letter stated.
The federation also pointed out to K&S that they do recognize the importance both as an avenue for player development and providing fans with high quality entertainment noting that it is the GFF’s wish that the tournament remains an important part of the football calendar for years to come.
Meanwhile, the GFF also dispatched a letter to its affiliates informing them that permission has been granted for them to host respective end of year tournaments or to collaborate with each other.
Those with intent to host their own tournament must however submit certain information to the GFF by December 3. These include: tournament rules, fixtures, approved venues, allocation of prizes/prize monies, referees; security and medical arrangements and information on clubs participating in the respective tournaments.
