An elderly Zeelugt man collapsed and died a day after his 38-year-old son was struck down and killed at Greenwich Park, East Bank Essequibo.
The son, David Dhanraj, of Greenwich Park, was attempting to cross the main road in his community at around 23.05 hrs on Saturday when he was struck down by a police constable, who was driving to Zeelugt Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, where a taxi driver was shot.
Dhanraj was pronounced dead at the Leonora Cottage Hospital.
A relative said that at around 18.00 hrs the following day, the victim’s 70 year-old father, known only as Hussein, took ill and was rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital. He died shortly after. Kaieteur News understands that Mr. Hussein was in poor health since suffering a stroke some six years ago.
Father and son were buried next to each other at Leguan, Essequibo.
