Two men, Kevin McPherson and Charles Stoby appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennon at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to face the charge of robbery under arms yesterday.
It is alleged that on November 15, at Robb Street, Georgetown Demerara, while armed with an ice pick Stoby robbed Edward McCoy of one Blackberry torch and cash.
Stoby, who was represented by Attorney-At-Law Paul Fung-A-Fat, said that Stoby was employed by Guysuco as a cane cutter, resided at Lot 15 Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara and had no previous brushes with the law.
McPherson, 23, was unrepresented and hails from 70 Belfield Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara and is a miner.
The two men have been remanded to prison until November 28.
