We have all heard that old expression, “Behind every great man is a great woman”; There have even been countless jokes and parodies based on it: from the meddling mother and irksome nagging wife. All jokes aside, there’s another way of looking at it: and quite literally and more often than not behind that great man is a woman overshadowed by his reputation and defined solely as his wife.
This is not the case however, when it comes to Angela Rahaman who is the wife of Veteran Motor Racer Ray Rahaman. Although humble and quiet in her demeanor, Angela Rahaman is a force to be reckoned with. She is the mastermind behind one of the most successful endeavours the Guyanese racing community has ever seen.
She is the owner and co-founder of ‘Rent – A –Tent’, the premier event rental company in Guyana is gearing to host its VIP Pavilion for the 5th consecutive year at the CMRC Race of Champions, today at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri.
Angela is an avid race fan that has invested her time, talent and expertise into creating an elite platform focused on comfort, and family oriented fun.
As a mother and wife in a family whose name is synonymous with racing, she understands the importance of the ‘racers’ support system in their families and has dedicated her vision of the VIP Pavilion to incorporate every age group, and personal preferences, working tirelessly at the tracks to ensure all is in place.
She has attended race pavilions in other Caribbean countries and looks to bring a level of distinction to what Guyana has to offer. By elevating the quality of what is being offered at the track in terms of entertainment, comfort and ambience, she has created a tourist attraction at the race tracks.
Women such as Angela, who stand not behind, but alongside great men like Ray Rahaman, have stories of their own, as invaluable partners and companions, sometimes rising to even greater heights of popularity and significance than their male counterparts whose names resonate more loudly through history.
Southland International has also come on board to celebrate this 5th year and will also featuring their “Carlsberg Girls” in a pool at the VIP Pavilion. That being said, this year promises to be spectacular with various sponsors offering product samples and prize giveaways.
