Yesterday marked a special day in the existence of the Petra Organisation when the Ministry of Health/Health 2000Inc/Ministry of Education/Ansa McAl Girls Schools Football got underway, at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Speaking at the Opening, Petra Organisation Co-Director Troy Mendonca spoke about the challenge they faced to organise football for girls and pointed to yesterday’s occasion as them rising to the challenge.
Mendonca thanked the teachers for responding to the call, getting the girls to look impressive in their uniforms and most of all setting aside other duties to be present with their respective teams.
Also present at the Opening was Health 2000 Inc. Managing Director Maliaka Persaud, who did the ceremonial kick off to send the tournament off.
The day’s proceedings saw six matches being played and below are the results from those engagements.
