With the main objective of keeping their members active and to show appreciation for their sterling efforts throughout the year, the Herstelling Raiders Football Club will be running off a 4-a-side competition among its members from Saturday at the Farm Community Centre Ground, East Bank Demerara.
Executive Member and Assistant Coach Paul Sookram in an invited comment said that himself and Coach Devon Winter, the main architects behind the rise of the club, decided to host the competition as a way of saying thanks to the players for their commitment during the year.
Sookram said that the businessmen in the community are very pleased with the performance of the team this year and are supporting this 4-a-side competition. One such entity is Jagroops Auto Electrical Establishment located at Farm on the East Bank.
Yesterday, owner Peter Jagroop handed over the trophies to Sookram while wishing the club the best. He said that he has been following the progress of the club through the year and is impressed with the performances of the young players.
Jagroop promised to continue supporting the club. Sookram thanked Jagroop on behalf of the club for his support.
