Supreme Petrol & Big Yard Auto Sale T20 – EBE
Half centuries from Vickram Kissoon and Azad Shafeek guided Tuschen ‘A’ to a five-wicket victory over Hydronie Sports Club when the Supreme Petrol and Big Yard Auto Sale T20 competition commenced on Sunday last on the East Bank of Essequibo.
Kissoon fashioned a fine 77 while Shafeek stroked 61 as Tuschen ‘A’ successfully chased 182, ending on 186-5 in 19.1 overs at Zeelugt. Earlier Rovin Seenarine scored 40 and Shilander Shafeek 38 for Hydronie who lost four wickets off their 20 overs.
Hosts Zeelugt overcame Philadelphia by seven wickets. The visitors took first strike and were sent packing for 97 in 11 overs. Medium pacer Kishan Mangre was the main destroyer with 5-4 off four overs, while V. Maniram took 3-15. The home team replied with 99-3 in 11 overs. K. Ramkarran cracked 39 and Neil Bissessar 16.
At Vergenoegen, the hosts got the better of Tuschen ‘B’ by 32 runs. Batting first, Vergenoegen posted 149-5 in 20 overs. Dammally David slammed 53 and Ricardo Reddy 29; M. Bacchus had 2-12. Tuschen ‘B’ were bowled out for 117 in 19.4 overs in response. V. Roopchand scored 60; Dwayne Stevens bagged 6-5 and A. Bissoondyal 2-17.
Supreme Petrol thumped Uprising by seven wickets. Uprising were toppled for 108 in 14.5 overs, taking first knock. J. Bissoondyal made 25 and Akash Dhaniram 21. Safraz Ally snared 3-28 and Javed Shafeek 2-23. Supreme Petrol replied with 111-3 in 16 overs. Rajiv Balgobin scored 29 and Ricardo Adams 27.
The competition continues on Sunday with Tuschen ‘A’ hosting Zeelugt from 09:30hrs and Hydronie travelling to Parika for a 13:30hrs engagement in Zone A. Hyde Park play Uprising from 09:30hrs at Parika, while Supreme face Tuschen B from 13:30hrs at Tuschen in Zone B matches.
