Volleyball players in the Ancient County of Berbice will be engaged in stiff competition
when the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) in collaboration with the Rollers Old Boys stages the 2nd Annual Rollers Old Boys Champion of Champions competition for teams in Berbice Sunday at the Port Mourant Community Centre Hard Court.
Port Mourant Training Centre 1 is the defending champions and will be hard pressed to retain the honours while playing against teams such as Berbice Under-19, Three Door Strikers, Tain Volleyball Club, Port Mourant Jaguars, PMTC 2 and Skeldon Jets.
The winning team receives a replica of the Lien trophy while trophies will also be presented to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers. There will also be prizes for the best setter and best spiker.
Several individuals have contributed to the trophies and other prizes including the overseas based group of Evan Chee, Sydney Thorne, Derwin Kendall, Gavin Dhaness, Walter Bascom, Bhadree,’Chas Chee, and John Gajadhar.
Former national setter and Rollers Founder/Captain, Clifton Phillips has also contributed to the prizes at stake. The action is scheduled to commence at 10:30hrs and teams are urged to be punctual.
