The second murder trial of the man and his son who are charged with killing a farmer in 2011 is continuing in the Berbice High Court.
On trial are Krishna, called ‘John’, 50, cattle and rice farmer of Alness and Letter Kenny, Corentyne, and his son Rommel Krishna, 24, a farmer of Alness Corentyne Berbice. They are accused of murdering Shawn Fraser, who was 38 at the time, on July 27, 2011 at Hogstye Backdam, Corentyne Berbice.
The duo is facing a second trial following the abortion of the first trial last May.
When the matter continued on Monday before Justice James Bovell-Drakes and a mixed jury, the prosecution called two more witnesses.
Taking the witness stand were Police Corporal Harold Noble, and brother of the deceased Jermaine Fraser. Policeman Noble was in charge of the shift at the Whim Police Station when Krishna was taken in.
The men are being represented by Attorneys-at-Law Murseline Bacchus and Kim Kyte-John. Prosecuting on behalf of the State is Attorney-at-Law Renita Singh.
Taking the witness stand first was Raquel Fraser, who related to the court that she had identified the body of her brother during the post mortem examination.
Kim Providence, another sister of the deceased also completed her evidence. She had related to the court that on the day in question her brother had left for the backdam. Sometime in the afternoon she received a telephone call. She subsequently, in company with others, went to the back dam.
During the journey Providence stated that she saw two men, Rommel Krishna and Kevin, under a shed. The men spoke to her.
They eventually arrived where the badly wounded Bindha was lying, and they picked him up and rushed him to the nearby health facility.
The matter is continuing.
