Southland International Inc. under its Carlsberg Beer brand endorsed its name as
a prominent sponsor of the November 16 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) after Chief Executive Officer Irzad Zamal handed over a cheque for an undisclosed sum to Treasurer of the Guyana Motor Racing Club Hansraj Singh yesterday, at the Club’s Headquarters on Albert Street.
Witnessed by members of the media and race officials, Zamal said that the Company was pleased to ride along with the GMR&SC who is the designated host of the event and further disclosed that the occasion marks the start of what is anticipated to be a long journey in motor racing.
The CEO said that the Carlsberg beer is also an elite sponsor of the Barclays Premier League (BPL) which is one of the biggest football Leagues in the world, while also pointing out that the beer is one of the top brands in Europe.
According to Zamal, Southland International Inc has given a huge injection to motor racing in Guyana and as a Company they are happy to be on board one of the biggest sport in the world.
GRM&SC Treasurer Hansraj Singh responding on behalf of the club spoke of the Company’s standing as a reputable one, adding that Carlsberg beer is also one of the leading beers in Europe and the racing fraternity was ecstatic to have them on board.
“These types of partnerships are very good for helping us maintain the upkeep of the sport which is extremely costly to do.
Club Secretary Carey Griffith in brief remarks expressed thanks on behalf of the racing entity for Southland International Inc. support and urged them to continue to strengthen the relationship between the two parties.
