Springlands defeated No. 71B to emerge as the top team of Zone O (Upper Corentyne/Central) to qualify for the last
sixteen playoffs of the New Building Society (NBS) second division 40-over cricket competition in Berbice.
Spearheading the win was opening batsman Trishan Ramdass who blasted 131 (9×4 13×6), Deoprakash Ramdat made 57 (7×4 2×6) as Springlands amassed 379-5 in just 25 overs. When No 71 batted, they were bundled out for 102 in 11.5 overs compliments of pacers George McCalman who took 5-22 and Wayne Garnett, 4-36.
Another team reaching the playoff was Albion Community Centre who won their final Zone J (Lower Corentyne/Central) preliminary match against Tamarind Root to remain undefeated.
