Orville Hinds rode brilliantly to capture the feature event when the Digicel Cancer awareness cycle road race took place yesterday.
Hinds withstood stern competition from his rivals to win the race in two hours 38 minutes and 45 seconds which started from Berbice Bridge, De Edward and finished at Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown; including two laps around the outer circuit of the National Park.
Hinds, Robin Persaud, Paul De Nobrega, Andre Green and Gebron Crawford arrived at Carifesta Avenue in a pack, but Hinds took the lead in the first lap around the park and never looked back as he crossed the finish line unchallenged. Green won the junior category, while Raul Leal placed second and Michael Anthony third.
