Golden Grove Cricket Club and Lusignan Sports Club advanced to the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) H. Nauth and Sons Civil Engineering Contractors and Petrol Station T/20 Finals after emerging victorious in their semi-finals last Sunday at Strathavon Community Centre Ground.
In the first match Golden Grove beat Perseverance won by 19 runs.
In bright sunshine and with a massive crowd in attendance Golden Grove won the toss and made 170- 9 from their allotted 20 overs with Terrence King top-scoring with an attacking 55 decorated with four fours and four sixes, while national youth player Sherfane Rutherford hammered three fours and four sixes in his 40.
Keon Francis captured 5-28 for Perseverance who could only manage 152- 9 when their 20 overs expired despite 30 from Ovid Richardson and 25 from Ronole Bourne.
In the second match, Lusignan ‘A’ whipped Strathavon won by five wickets after Strathavon, sent in to bat, were restricted to 92-9 from their 20 overs with Randy Budhu leading the fight with 38 and Gobindram Hemraj chipping in with 21.
Bowling for Lusignan ‘A’, Imran Khan took 2-13 and National under-19 Skipper Brian Sattaur supporting with 2-15 for Lusignan ‘A’ who recovered from the early loss of the usually explosive Sattaur to reach 93-5 from 16.2 overs.
Vishnu Ramjeet stroked 24 and Sumnauth Bharrat made 20 as Steven Singh (2-7) and Jermain Tindal (2-12) bowled well in a losing cause for Strathavon.
The date and venue for the final will be announced shortly.
